    About Marion Weeber
: In the 1940s, New York designer Marion Weeber created wonderful, adorable realistic buttons for B. Blumenthal & Company (founded in 1877). Weeber themes included "realistics" in the shape of food (fruit, vegetables, candy, cake, and entire breakfast, lunch and dinner plates); animals (birds); objects (a candlestick, clocks), garden items (seed packets, a pitchfork, a wheelbarrow, umbrella, flowers) and much more. The parts of each button were hand tooled -- individually molded in celluloid then assembled and glued together. Realistic and novelty buttons today are primarily designed for the mass market where they are purchased for crafts and for embellishment on all types of garments. The Weeber buttons were specifically created for the dress trade.”
Wonderful button for a National Button Society (NBS) tray, to wear, or to keep in your collection.
