Dark Red Shanxi Antique Chest Cabinet

Description

Eggplant color chest from 1865 to 1835 from the Shanxi province. Solid poplar with a rich patina of red highlights, this chest has hand-painted flower pattern motif on front, and a carving of Chinese characters and flowers on two sides of chest. Unique circular metal hardware & hinges open to reveal two shelves and drawers inside of the double chest doors.
