Description

This stunning three-piece Chaozhou cabinet was found in Chaozhou, one of the most famous cultural and historical cities in southeast China. A hand painted oval shaped center surrounded by intricate carving adorns each cabinet door. The painting on each door is different; natural scenery or people conversing in the garden. The artisans from Chaozhou area favored the black and golden lacquer exemplified in this piece. Most of the original brassware exists. Shows great patina. This cabinet consists of three individual pieces: two cabinets and one base, and can be used as sideboard, two-piece cabinet, or accent table. The concept of modular furniture is not a modern idea but was originated centuries ago. Intricate compartments offer ample space for your various collections. It will make an excellent wine cabinet, den or office storage.
