Description

Offered here us a very fine, very old Chinese cabinet. This cabinet is well over 200 years old and has all of the construction hallmarks to prove that. The cabinet is mortice and tenon construction. There are no screws. The door "hinges" are continuous parts of the side rails of the doors, so that the entire cabinet may be knocked down for transporting easily. Please see the last photos. This cabinet measures 32 3/4" high, 31 1/4" wide, and 20 5/8" deep. It is strong and stable. There is some shrinkage to one illustrated door panel, but this also verifies the age and construction, as it shows the joinery as being very fine mortice and tenon construction rather than a glue joint.
