Description
This is an antique Chinese cabinet made during the Qing Dynasty in the late 1800's. Hand painted motifs on each of the doors. Most likely made ofYumu
or Chinese elm wood. The wood is lacquered in a deep warm red semi-clear lacquer. Bronze drawer pulls and lock plates. Iron pins that fasten the lock plates are square and irregular in shape consistent with 19th century construction.
This small chest measures approximately 28 1/2" tall by 28" wide by 16 1/2" deep (72.5 x 71 x 42 cm). Mortis and tenon joinery. Having been used lovingly over the past century+, with the exception of a scuffs and dents, it remains in
fine antique condition
. Weighs over 35 pounds.
