Description:
Chinese motif, rounded top, most probably Walnut wood with lacquer finish. This exotic Chinoiserie cabinet was crafted in Oriental style called Chinoiserie ,the European interpretation and imitation of Chinese and East Asian artistic traditions. First appearing in the 17th century, this trend was popularized in the 18th century due to the rise in trade with China.
CHINOISERIE is a French word that means “in the Chinese taste”. It describes a European style of decorative ornament that was wildly popular in the seventeenth and eighteenth centuries, and still looks great today. Chinoiserie decoration has the unique feature of combining real elements with fantasy,
This Bar cabinet has an open top with a shaped frieze, the back having floral gilt decoration with a Chinese scene incorporating various   birds and foliage
, with multiple compartments inside.
Below it is two bottom front doors. One the rounded sides there opens more cabinet spaces with shelving.
The artwork is very handsome, with traditional floral motifs and an array of bird and floral on the doors. On the sides are more Gold gilt decor.
Storage at its best with many secret doors and hidden drawers with an area to store either bottles, glasses or other miscellaneous items.
Inside are various compartments that
hold liquor drink glasses. The front, decorated with more floral gilt designs, has a fold out opening    desk top for serving,
there are a pair of   gilt decorated cupboard doors below top drawer to reveal the inside with two extra   drawers and below another area for more   bottles and glasses.
Each Side of the Cabinet Bar has two curved doors with five shelves for glasses, cocktails and other drink related items
.
The sides of the cabinet are in keeping with the same format as the front, the top having floral gilt decoration. The Cabinet is raised on square towed feet

: 42 1/2 " tall, 17" deep, 32" wide
Condition
: Good for its age with minor scuffs. Still, these scuffs don’t detract from the beauty of this piece but simply add to its antique charm. Overall condition is therefore very good.

The  Cabinet stood for over fifty years at my  family home. My  parents were     Antique
Collectors of  American  Empire, Rococo  and fine porcelain.
